Susan Shehata, also known as the Space Guru, assists clients in transforming the space around and the space within, through feng shui, music, holistic healing and spiritual coaching. After five years as the co-owner of Sacred Rearrangements, shop and healing center in Uptown Minneapolis, Susan is currently the co-owner of Shift Home & Lifestyle; a lifestyle transformation business. Raising the Consciousness, the media and events arm of her business, produces a radio show, the Twin Cities Kirtan Festival, as well as many other healing and music events that inspire global change through individual action. Susan is also a writer whose column, Space Guru, has appeared in the Edge Magazine and Southwest Journal. As a musician, Susan focuses on musical theatre and kirtan (yogic chant music) and she is currently producing her first kirtan album with her band, Sitara & Kalyani with Pavan-Kumar. Her life’s mission is to use her voice as a vocalist, writer, speaker and healer to assist in global transformation.

Colleen Buckman,(Kalyani), is a true renaissance woman. She is one who weaves all of her unique gifts into each element of her expansive career. As a holistic healing practitioner, Colleen takes great care with each client and patient to guide them on their personal healing journey, restoring the mind, body, spirit connection. As a songwriter, producer and composer, Colleen shines with her powerful voice, potent lyrics and authentic sense of musicality. Her debut album, Sometimes in the Sun, put her on the map as a real songstress in 2007. Currently, she is composing, producing and recording her second solo album, in addition to a new collaborative Kirtan album with Susan Shehata, (Sitara) and Keith Helke (Pavan Kumar). Colleen is the Founder and Owner of Fair Trade Om; a conscious philanthropic production company (www.fairtradeom.com). And she is a producer and co-host of the radio show and media/events company, Raising the Consciousness.

Keith Helke (Pavan- Kumar), Associate Producer, Sound Design and Research

Keith is an educator, food coach and personal chef, as well as a producer and musician, with an eclectic background and a wealth of knowledge that he brings to his work. He has worked professionally in the food industry for over 25 years. As a personal chef, he has prepared meals for Gold Record holding artists in the recording studio to groups of campers on wilderness trips. Keith picked up his first guitar at the age of 16, and has recently re-focused his attention on music, playing with several small bands in the Twin Cities. Keith (Pavan-Kumar) is currently recording his first kirtan album with his band, Sitara & Kalyani with Pavan-Kumar. After five years as the co-owner of Sacred Rearrangements, shop and healing center in Uptown Minneapolis, Keith is currently the co-owner of Shift Home & Lifestyle; a lifestyle transformation business. Keith is also an associate producer with Raising the Consciousness, which has produced a radio show by the same name, produces the Twin Cities Kirtan Festival, and has also produced the music for the Twin Cities Yoga Festival, and concerts with performers like Deva Premal and Miten, Dave Stringer and Medicine for the People.

The producers of RTC are also known for their kirtan band, Sitara & Kalyani with Pavan Kumar.

Susan Shehata (Sitara), Colleen Buckman (Kalyani) and Keith Helke (Pavan Kumar), combine decades of musical expertise and theatrical performance experience, as well as a passion for yogic traditions, to create an accessible and uplifting kirtan.
Susan, Colleen and Keith became lovers of bhakti yoga over several journeys to India. This sadhana has brought them deeper into their paths as producers, musicians and entrepreneurs. Will Kemperman brings a wealth of hand drum and drum set experience to the rhythm section, having played drums and percussion for thirty years. He has performed professionally in pop, rock, jazz, musical theater, world music, and spiritual settings in the Twin Cities during the last twelve years.
Sitara & Kalyani with Pavan Kumar have performed and taught about Kirtan in a myriad of events and venues including: Bhakti Fest Midwest, The Twin Cities Kirtan Festival, The Twin Cites Yoga Festival, Common Grounds Yoga & Music Festival, the Varsity Theatre, Project Earth, Harvest Fest, Bella Madre and Shangri La music festivals, Restore Healing, as well as a number of additional venues in the region. As recording artists, the band just released their first collective Kirtan album, self titled Sitara & Kalyani with Pavan Kumar.
Colleen, Susan and Keith co-produce the Twin Cities Kirtan Festival as well as other conscious Midwest events, such as An Evening with Deva Premal and Miten with Manose. They have also had the pleasure of hosting and performing with kirtan greats Dave Stringer, Brenda McMorrow and Suzanne Sterling, as well as opening for Grammy Award Winning artist, Chris Berry. Their radio show and media company, Raising the Consciousness, is a vehicle to inspire global change through individual action. As the show’s hosts, Susan and Colleen have had the pleasure of interviewing multiple artists, holistic healers, medical doctors and spiritual teachers including Jai Uttal, Dr. Norm Shealy and Dr. Ibrahim Jaffe.
